Opening Up the Views Broadview

Living spaces and stairwell opened up for a spacious, convivial feel [more]

Typical of 50's homes the spaces were all segmented into small rooms and the ceilings are low. The first remodel opened up the living, dining, and kitchen areas to each other and a light soffit was used on the ceiling along with tile on the floor to define the formal entry for guests. The kitchen was designed to be group friendly and the living room end wall serves as a rich focal point as well as a place for the hidden TV.

The second remodel was to remove the stairwell walls that split the house in two so we could take advantage of, and have access to, the beautiful back yard gardens. Now views can be had through the house to the mountains and water and the gardens - making the house feel larger than its square feet indicate.
